Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile game Word Web (“the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use it. We built Word Web to be a simple word game, and we collect as little as possible. Please read this policy to understand our practices.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Summary (the short version)

• We do not require an account, and we do not ask for your name, email, or other directly identifying information.
• Your game progress and settings are stored only on your device.
• We use third-party services for crash reporting, advertising, and in-app purchases. These services may collect limited technical and device information as described below.
• We do not sell your personal information.

Information we collect

Information stored only on your device

Your game progress (solved words, level completion), your hint balance, unlocked content, and your settings (sound, music) are stored locally on your device. This information is not transmitted to us and is not accessible to us.

Diagnostics and crash data

We use a crash-reporting service to detect and fix bugs and crashes. When the App encounters an error, it may send diagnostic information such as:

• Crash logs and error reports
• Device model and operating system version
• App version and general device state at the time of the error

This data is used solely to improve the stability of the App. It is not used to identify you personally, and we have configured the service not to attach personally identifying information.

Advertising information

The App displays advertisements (including rewarded video ads) provided by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, our advertising partner may access or collect:

• A device advertising identifier (such as Apple’s IDFA/Identifier for Advertisers)
• Ad interaction and performance data
• Coarse, non-precise device and usage information

On iOS, we request your permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt before any advertising identifier is used to track you across other apps and websites. If you choose “Ask App Not to Track,” you will still see ads, but they will be non-personalized.

Purchase information

The App offers optional in-app purchases (a hint pack and premium level packs). Purchases are processed by Apple and managed through RevenueCat. We (and RevenueCat) receive transaction information such as the product purchased, purchase status, and an anonymous purchase identifier so we can deliver what you bought and restore your purchases. We never receive or store your credit card or payment details — those are handled entirely by Apple.

How we use information

We use the information described above to:

• Provide and maintain the App
• Fix bugs and improve stability and performance
• Display and measure advertisements
• Process and restore in-app purchases
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles ourselves.

Third-party services

The App relies on the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data:

• Google AdMob (advertising) — policies.google.com/privacy
• Sentry (crash and error diagnostics) — sentry.io/privacy
• RevenueCat (in-app purchase management) — revenuecat.com/privacy
• Apple (App Store and payment processing) — apple.com/legal/privacy

We encourage you to review these policies to understand how these providers process data.

Data retention

We retain diagnostic and purchase-related data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above, or as required by our service providers’ policies and applicable law. Locally stored game data remains on your device until you delete the App or reset your progress within the App.

Your choices

• Advertising: You can control ad tracking on iOS via Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and limit ad personalization via Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.
• Purchases: You can manage and view purchases through your Apple ID account settings.
• Local data: You can clear your saved progress from within the App (Settings → Reset Progress), or by deleting the App.

Children’s privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the App. However, no method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
